The Power of Persuasion: WWI Propaganda

This week, Form VI (Year 6) visited the National Army Museum to explore how governments used propaganda to recruit soldiers and gain public support during the First World War.

The girls have been learning that propaganda is often biased, with both sides of the conflict using it to portray the enemy in a negative light. This ties in with our classroom studies on the features of propaganda, as well as comparing propaganda posters from Germany and Great Britain. During our visit, we also explored the galleries, uncovering many fascinating facts that will support our understanding of the topic.

The girls particularly enjoyed the opportunity to handle artefacts, adding a hands-on element to their learning experience.
