In celebration of the Year of the Snake, Form I (Year 1) marked Lunar New Year by creating a pneumatic toy snake during DT Day. This hands-on activity became increasingly special after the girls learned about Lunar New Year traditions in our fantastic parent workshop.

One of our parents kindly came in to share how her family celebrates the holiday and read The Great Race: The Story of the Chinese Zodiac. After the story, the girls got creative and made paper snakes to celebrate the Year of the Snake.

Some of the girls commented:

“Can I be born in the year of the tiger? Tigers are the best!”

“Why did the cat not get a year? That’s so unfair!”

“Can we do this every year? I love Lunar New Year!”

“The rat was really clever, but the ox did all the hard work!”
