The Art Department has been busy with a series of inspiring trips already this term. IS Art pupils enjoyed visiting Margate and the Turner Contemporary, where they gathered primary sources and inspiration from the exhibition exploring exciting exhibitions by contemporary artists. Our Art Scholars had the special opportunity to attend a talk at the National Gallery with artist and art historian Rose Davey, offering fresh insights into art history and her creative practice. Meanwhile, IJ students experienced Frieze Sculpture exhibition at Regent’s Park. Here is a quote from one of our newest Art Scholars Mina in C3: ‘It was fascinating to see famous pieces of art from the point of view of Rose Davey, our amazing tour guide and artist. She helped me see things that I had never noticed before in paintings that I had never seen before. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to visit the National Gallery with the other Art Scholars and I am so excited for other further art trips.’
