Favourite place you have ever visited?
Kenya: I spent two months there doing community work, and it was one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences of my life. I helped build hospitals and houses, taught English, and even climbed Mount Kenya! I also have to mention the Brass & Dance tour to St Lucia – best school trip EVER!

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
‘Be brave enough to be bad at something new.’ It’s about just going for it even if you’re terrible at first. So many people don’t even try things because they’re scared of looking stupid or worrying what others might think. But it’s way better to be in the mix, having a go, than sitting it out completely. Everyone starts somewhere, and you can’t get better without being a beginner first. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about showing up.

Ideal restaurant meal option?
Definitely sushi – I could eat it every day.

What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
The final dance scene in Step Up 2: The Streets, when they dance in the rain. If you haven’t seen it, it is one to watch! Hopefully Mr Tillett will give in and let us budget for rain at the Dance Show… the whole scene will be recreated and we will provide waterproof ponchos for the front row.

What do you wish someone taught you a long time ago?
That it’s okay to say no. Learning to set boundaries is such an important life skill!

What book had the most significant impact on you?
‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ by Charlie Mackesy. It reminded me that it’s okay not to have all the answers, and that asking for help is actually a strength.

Tell us something you are good at that may surprise us.
Taekwondo! I represented Great Britain at the Junior Olympics when I was in primary school and won gold in patterns.

What, in your opinion, is the most amazing animal?
It must be a Labrador: I’ve had two black labs, and they are just the best.

What TV show are you hooked on or were recently hooked on?
Gilmore Girls – I watch it every single year without fail.

If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose to lose?
Definitely smell.

Has there ever been a time when something so amazing or unexpected happened that it literally left you speechless for a time?
I was swimming on my honeymoon and thought people on the shore were happily waving at me. It turned out, I was swimming next to a SHARK! I was totally shocked when I realised, and it left me speechless for a while.

What card or board games do you like to play?
The Traitors board game. I’m obsessed and I’d love to go on the show. I reckon I could give Claudia a run for her money with the fringe I had in 2012!
