Favourite place you have ever visited?
Travel is one of my favourite things to do and I have been lucky enough to have travelled to some extraordinary places, but I think one of my favourite trips has to be camper vanning around New Zealand. Its wildlife and panoramic landscapes were breathtakingly beautiful and made you feel like you truly were in Lord of the Rings!
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
My Dad used to say that you should be as kind to the person sitting next to you on the bus as you would be to the Queen in Buckingham Palace. A good lesson to show respect and kindness to all people you interact with.
Ideal restaurant meal option
I grew a huge love of Dim Sum from my time living in Hong Kong so I do love to go to China Town when I can to get my fix! I do love Din Tai Fung for delicious dumplings in beautiful bamboo baskets.
What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
I love the movie The Family Stone when the whole house is full of family for Christmas and the events that unfold at the end of the film – they are all standing around the Christmas tree thinking about a member that is no longer with them. A very poignant moment but very emotive to think of those that we love and are close to. Christmas is my favourite time of year!
What do you wish someone taught you a long time ago?
I wish that someone had taught me to play the guitar and reminded me to keep practising and not give it up so I can be living my secret dream of being on stage at Glastonbury. We must never give up on our dreams though right!?
What book had the most significant impact on you?
I love I Capture the Castle by Dodi Smith. The book tells the story of an eccentric family living in an old castle ruin and one of the main protagonists at one-point dyes everyone clothes green in an attempt to add a bit of colour into everyone lives. It is very whimsical and appeals to my artistic side of living a bohemian lifestyle and being true to yourself in all that you do.
Tell us something you are good at that may surprise us
I am very good at body boarding. I would say a pro body boarder. And I am never happier then in the Cornish sea, sun on my face, or rain, more usually, and ripping it up on my body board. A truly happy place!
What, in your opinion, is the most amazing animal?
Elephants are my favourite animal. I have been chased by one once in Africa, but I still love them. I love their emotional intelligence and kindness they display for each other. And the way the live in their families. We can learn a lot from elephants, I think.
What TV shows are you hooked on or were recently hooked on?
I am not a massive TV watcher, too busy trying to relearn my guitar skills, but I do love Friends. I have it on in the background quite often when I am pottering about.
If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose to lose?
I would lose my sense of smell, which would be upsetting. However, I think hearing and sight are too precious.
Has there ever been a time when something so amazing or unexpected happened that it literally left you speechless for a time?
I saw Bruce Springstein at Hyde Park last summer and when he played ‘Dancing in the Dark’, I was left speechless. It is one of my favourite songs and it was such an amazing setting filled with laughter and friends. It was so memorable.
What card or board games do you like to play?
I love cards and a good old-fashioned game of Scrabble to get the brain moving. An oldie but a goodie. I also love Bananagrams, it can really reveal people’s true personalities!
